The Journal is administered by three groups: the Editors (consisting of the editor-in-chief and two managing editors), an Advisory Board, and an Editorial Board.

Editors. The daily operation of the Journal is in the hands of the editors. They are responsible for management of the Journal, maintenance of its website, ensuring that peer review is adequately performed, communicating with authors and deciding which submissions merit publication.

Advisory Board. The Advisory Board provides guidance to the Editors concerning the Journal's mission, relevance and quality. It is composed of respected researchers in a field of privacy technology. The Advisory Board receives reports from the Editors on the activities of the Journal and relevant statistics and makes recommendations to the Editors. The Advisory Board members do not participate directly in the review or editing of submissions. Members of the Advisory Board serve for renewable terms, normally two or three years.

Editorial Board. The Editorial Board is responsible for peer review of submitted articles. No refereed paper will be published until a minimum of three favorable peer reviews have been transmitted to the Editors. Much of the reviewing is performed by members of the Editorial Board themselves or by professionals designated by Board members. The Editorial Board consists of active researchers who are familiar personally with at least one of the substantive areas of interest to the Journal and who have indicated that they have sufficient time and interest to assure prompt reviewing. Members of the Editorial Board serve for renewable terms, normally three years.
